Gabriel Zuvilivia Braillard Silver Jewelry Original Designs

Wonderful and original silver jewelry designed and hand made by Gabriel Zuvilivia. Argentinian of origin, Gabriel arrived and fell in love with Malinalco, which also became his inspiration for his very original and special jewelry. Sensitive and smooth, Gabriel manages to transmit the magic of Malinalco through his jewelry designs. From full sets of necklace, earrings, and rings, to bracelets and other fun stuff the variants are many and all well worth the time to browse. A good gift option for friends and family. You can be sure they will hardly find anything like it! Gabriel's Jewelry can be found at Mano Malinalca, at Los Placeres Restaurant, at Café La Fé, but for the most selection at the base of the Ceremonial site on the street you can find Gabriel himself selling his jewelry or his wife.

El Xoxopaxtli Hand made Rebozos (xoxopaxtli)
Don Isaac and Camelia inside the rebozos Xoxopaxtli store, downtown Malinalco
Don Isaac and Camelia, his daughter, inside the rebozos Xoxopaxtli store, downtown Malinalco

An art form that is dying in Mexico. Hand made rebozos are a treasure now, a craft that is being lost, as most are industrially made now. Don Isaac is one of our most famous locals. He has the knowledge of how to make a rebozo from scratch by hand, and has been teaching his grandaughters to make them. Made with a very fine and delicate cotton with a "telar de cintura" (waist weaver), the colors and designs you will find from the very traditional to the very different and original creations by Don Isaac or his granddaughters. Worth going, most likely you will find Don Isaac at work and will be a witness of how this very old and practical item has been made for hundreds of years. Don Isaac is famous around the world for his creations and has won very important prizes for his rebozos. Distinguished women around the world wear with pride his creations.

Mano Malinalca Textiles, weaving, prehispanic instruments, jewelry & wood carvings
Patricia Robles, the owner and artist weaver
Patricia Robles, owner of Mano Malinalca, is another artist in the craft of weaving. Here she sits in front of one of the pieces she is making for a one woman show she will have in March 2004

If you like textiles, this is the place to go. Hand made textiles of all kinds; rebozos, huipiles, wall hanging original textiles made by Patricia Robles, rugs, hemp clothing, even textile jewelry. Many of the arts and crafts of the region can be found at this very original and different store. You can also find incense, soaps, candles, jewelry, prehispanic instruments and wonderful wood carved pieces. Don't be fooled, feel free to walk in and browse...you will most likely find Patricia (the owner and creator of many textiles she sells) weaving one of her works of art or having a chat with friends that also live in Malinalco and who enjoy spending moments with her while she tends her store.
