December is a good month to be thankful for the lessons learned along the year .
Thank you, everyone, Malinalco and all its people!

Magic-Malinalco was born of our gratefulness, it is inspired by it and lives for it. It is our way to thank this place and the people who brings it to life. It has inspired many to participate in many ways and forms, some by thanking us for the site, others by recommending places, events, and services they appreciate, others by sending pictures and information to integrate to it and give it life, and many many more by coming to visit. There are no words to express how thankful and moved we are by the response this site has had during its short but intense life. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you, Malinalco, for extending your magic to this site!

Festivities for the Virgin of Guadalupe, whose image lives at the Capilla de Santa Mónica. This day mass is celebrated every hour.

December 2nd, 2003

On this day the Virgin de la Candelaria travels from San Martín to Santa Mónica surrounded by flowers, candles and violin and guitar music. The entire town venerates this Virgin and is known to have been quite miraculous. She is present at every festivity and is always the first to attend. Firecrackers soundas San Martin accompanies her for about two blocks, then he says goodbye as he goes back to his Chapel and she continues her way to Santa Mónica. As she arrives the bells of Santa Mónica toll and Santa Mónica comes out to greet her bowing three times. When they reach the Chapel people kiss her before she is placed at the altar. The rosary and the sacred mass follow.

This process is repeated by each Saint of each Chapel: San Juan, San Martín, Santa María, La Soledad, San Andrés, San Pedro, Santa Cecilia of La Ladrillera, the patron Saints of El Puentecito and Puente Caporal, San Nicolás, Jesús María and those of Jalmolonga and Amate Amarillo, day by day, until the 11th because the 12th is the Virgin of Guadalupe's very special day.
