October in Malinalco is when the landscape dresses itself with all kinds of wildflowers by day and the sky with spectacular starry nights. The sky during this month is spectacular, if it stops raining. We can begin to feel the beginning of winter as shadows and evenings grow cooler. At the end of the month we will start seeing the beginning of the "Muertos" Festivities.

Dream telling Workshop "The Magic of Color "
(sensibilization and artistic creation workshop)
Patio of the Casa Parroquial
(entry by
calle Morelos)

We intuit color as something that is alive, of everything we perceive we know the color surges from inside things.

We have marveled with the images of our dreams as we refer to color. Some dream in one color, others in black and white, but it is true that color is an independent and rich element in itself, capable of translating our feelings.

During the day (sun) or night (moon), we will discover the silences that inhabit inside color, in other words we will follow the movement of color which is magic and light.

The techniques that we will use are: acrylic watercolors gouache, graphite, oil pastels, collage, all over paper or fabric.

We will also learn to bind, we will make our dreams the motive to create object-art and we will be able to make our own notebooks and other things we come up with in the process.

We will experiment with the three dimensional space by making a paper sculpture with vegetal dough and clay.

We will also print with gravure and monotype techniques.

As for literary work we will continue sharing our dreams and in this occasion we will use material that came from the Huichol culture. We will also use a collection of unedited tales by communities where this workshop has been given and through them connect with very different places where other children have also a lot to share.

12 sessions
Cost: $1,000 pesos (all materials are included)

The works from past workshops is being showed at Los Placeres with lots of success.

Integral Quality Education for all

Ecomundi has sent to us a letter that we share with you:

Dear Friends:

As you well know we have been able to materialize our dream of creating a school in Malinalco. This achievement has been possible through the work of several families, the help and inspiration of teachers and guides, the economic help and donations of very generous people whom have helped make this dream come true. Ecomundi started its activities on August 2004 and has had wonderful results with the children.

Until now 15 children have joined, ages 1 through 8 years old. As any quality project, it is costly and the needs are many. So a large number of families can integrate and therefore contribute to the formation of better human beings, we need your support.

Our intention is to reach a level where the school is self suffiecient and can give quality edurcation to all the families that are interested in the education and development of their children and community. To reach the point of equilibrium we need to have at least 25 children enrolled. There are some families that are interested en enrolling their kids at Ecomundi but but don't have the financial resources to pay the tuition ($1,200.00 pesos a month).

One way you can support the Ecomundi Malinalco Project is through the Godfather Plan, that consists in parcially paying the tuition of one child.

It is possible to cover up to 80% of the tuition so that the remaining 20% will be up to the family to pay. This 20% can be covered with money or work at the school.

We present here a few options on how to support Ecomundi:

• Donations
• Scholarships for low income children (Godfather Plan)
• Scholarships for low income guides and assistants
• Clay pots
• Fences
• Volunteering
• Garden Children Toys
• Didactic material
• Construction materials, gardening and maintenance tools, etc.

For the joining of efforts to the realization of this dream, Ecomundi Malinalco thanks you.

If you are interested in supporting this project, or know of someone who could, please contact us.
Ecomundi is a non-profit organization.
Our goal is Integral Quality Education for All.
